Engagement Leader Program
What is the Engagement Leader Program?
The Engagement Leader (EL) Program is a peer-led transition and retention initiative designed to support first-year, transfer, and first-year commuter students as they transition to campus. Beginning before the semester starts and continuing through your first semester on campus, Engagement Leaders are trained student mentors who are paired with GPS courses and connect with incoming students to help make the transition to college smoother.
As you start your first semester, you won't be doing it alone. Your Engagement Leader will be there to answer questions, connect you with campus resources, introduce you to other students, and encourage you to participate in Clyde's Kickoff and other Student Life & Leadership events. Their goal is to help you build a sense of belonging, get involved on campus, and feel confident navigating college life.
The Engagement Leader Program also develops the leadership skills of the student leaders themselves through transformational, authentic, and servant leadership practices, creating a community where both new students and Engagement Leaders grow, connect, and succeed together.
Joining an Engagement Leader Group
If you’re enrolled in a GPS class, you’ll automatically be paired with an Engagement Leader who will reach out to you through your campus email over the summer with more information and ways to get involved.
Not in a GPS class? No problem! You can still join an Engagement Leader group by signing up using this link or scanning the QR code to the left.
