Biography

Jean Blackman Harlow grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho and moved to Colorado in 2020 to take care of her grandmother. She is currently studying Theater & Dance at UCCS, with a declared minor in Music Theory & Sound Design.

Jean chose this to pursue a Theater & Dance major because she has been in theater performances since she was three-years-old and she has been in dance lessons since she was four-years-old. She has studied jazz, tap, lyrical, ballet, hip-hop contemporary, ballroom dance, and gymnastics. It is her future goal (after she is rich and famous of course) to open a dance studio / dinner theater of her own, so that she can help aspiring artists learn and grow in their art.

Jean and her mother, Donna, have a music group called “The Ginger Snaps.” Jean plays acoustic and bass guitar, her mother plays piano, and they both sing. Together, they play at weddings, funerals, and other special events.

In addition to college, Jean is also currently serving in the Air Force Reserves and on Fridays she volunteers at The Manna House, a local food pantry in Florence, CO.
