My son or daughter would like apply for the program. How can they improve their chances of getting into CLC?

We highly recommend that your student communicates directly with the CLC Office if they have questions about the program rather than having a parent ask questions on their behalf. We want to get to know your student before and during the selection process to evaluate their professionalism and interest in the program.

I am prospective scholar. How can I improve my chances in getting into the program?

Attention to detail, having a winning attitude, and professionalism are all very important to us in CLC.

How do I access the online application?

You will find the application in your portal under the financial aid tab.  Select “Apply for and Accept UCCS Scholarships". 

What is the schedule like for the final interviews?

If you are one of the finalists, interviews will take place in the morning from 8:00 am -1:00 pm. All finalists will be invited to a light breakfast and a lunch hosted by the Chancellor. You will also participate in interviews with current CLC scholars, Board members, university faculty and staff, and alumni of the CLC program.

I’m from out-of-state. If selected as a finalist, how can I participate in the interviews?

If you have been chosen as a finalist and cannot participate in the interviews, please contact the CLC Office at clc@uccs.edu or (719) 255-3215. 

What do you look for in the written applications?

We are looking for your professionalism and candor. Your application should be free of spelling and grammatical errors. Your commitment to leadership, service and your personality should shine through. You should also demonstrate knowledge about the program, what you can contribute to it, and why you want to be a scholar of CLC.

Can I receive additional scholarship funding from other sources?
